Stage Turner Short Fiction Contest Update!

Stage Turner announces the second year of the Louise Klein Carpenter Short Fiction Contest. The contest is open to writers 16 years old and older who are full-time or part-time residents of Leelanau or Grand Traverse Counties. It honors the late Louise Klein Carpenter, a former language teacher in East Grand Rapids and part-time Leland summer resident.

Eligible writers may begin submitting their stories after September 30, 2008. Story length for submission should not exceed 1500 words. Only one (1) submission is permitted per writer. The actual body of the story should have the title only and be numbered, starting with the number 1, with no author name on any story page. Stories must also have an un-numbered front page containing the story’s title, the author’s name and contact info.

Entries should be mailed to: The Louise Klein Carpenter Short Fiction Contest, Stage Turner, Inc., PO Box 501, Leland, MI 49654. Stories will not be returned. Deadline for submission is January 15, 2009.

The winning story will be announced in May 2009. The winning author will receive a cash prize of $250.
